About
The Global and International Studies Major…
Strives to create a space for almost building your own major within the three major departments of history, economics, and political science in order to create a globally themed education. This includes learning and applying a language, along with traveling abroad and immersing yourself into a new culture and engaging in new experiences.
The major offers three tracks called home departments: History, Economics, and Political Science. Majors will then pick a language and take five courses or course equivalency in the language. And finally, majors will pick a study abroad program. International students may be exempt from the language requirement and are exempt from studying abroad; however, international students may still choose to complete either requirement.
The department includes a wide range of faculty from each of the three main disciplines along with professors in some of the language departments. All of the faculty, posted on the bulletin board on the 1st floor of Kauke (Professor side), are great resources in order to learn more about the major and ask any questions you may have. Other resources include the GIS Chair, Dr. Moledina, and the GIS Program Assistants.
